Meet Mike

After moving back home to the Black Hills of South Dakota Mike began working with the Rapid City Ambulance Service as an EMT Paramedic/Manager and eventually transitioned into a Firefighter/Paramedic, for a 6 year role with the Rapid City Fire/Rescue Department. In the mid 1990’s, with a draw to the Rocky Mountains, Mike moved to Northern Colorado to transfer his valuable Fire/Rescue/Paramedic skill sets, where he worked as a TEMS Paramedic, (SWAT Paramedic), with local hospitals and Law Enforcement agencies. Mike also found himself working with the National Park service in Rocky Mountain National Park in both a “front country” and “back country” settings, as a Paramedic role with their, National Park, Mountain Rescue Teams. After a few short years Mikes leadership skills found him working up to management, (Captain), role, all while attaining, Advanced Critical Care and Community Paramedicine Certifications, with the local Hospital based Ambulance Services. Because he enjoys educating, Mike has been an EMS/Dive Rescue educator most of his career and currently works as American Heart Association Faculty for Estes Park Health in Estes Park Hospital, Colorado. Mike has extensive interest and roots in the Dive Rescue field, , since the summer of 1988, he has become, a corporate staff member for Dive Rescue International, serving as Director of Education and Vice President of Operations. Mike has co-authored many Dive Rescue International programs. While with Dive Rescue he has been involved in multiple, rescue/recovery operations throughout North America. Mike continues to enjoy his full time employment in Paramedicine and believes that EMS is the best career on the planet and truly is driven to assist other Brothers and Sisters in First Response, who are in crisis.
